G-Grind Cams

I just found a G-grind which some fellow is selling.  How can I tell if
it's actually a g-grind cam.  Also, what is the g-grind.  I mean is it a
European cam or what.  How would this cam benefit my 1.8?  Finally, what do
I look for when purchasing a used cam or should I just get a new one.
Educate me about cams......someone.
