That page is just results from Car Tester, that cute (but not all that
accurate) program that we all know and love.

If you want the *real* road test results, drop by my page at:

I don't list all the specs (I should update that), but the top speed for
the 16v is 124 according to Car and Driver.

C&D got a 0-60 time of 8.0s shifting at 6800rpm, (i.e. 59mph in 2nd) and
R&T got 7.7 shifting at 60mph.

As far as the weight is concerned:

Car and Driver 8/86: Scirocco 16v (US Model) 2380lb (curb weight- full
fluids, no driver)
Road and Track 8/86: Scirocco 16v (US Model) 2365lb (curb weight- full
fluids, no driver)
Motor Trend 9/85: Scirocco GTX 16v (Euro Model) 2138lb

Road and Track's "Test Weight" was 2530lb.

And for comparison's sake, the 1983 8v Scirocco they tested weighed 2170lb
and did 0-60 in 10.7sec with an estimated top speed of 109. (The 16v's
estimated top speed was 125).
