    There are several retrofit kits avail. for 134a. There are also several
other replacement refrigerants as well...
R12freeze and others. I don't remember if there's a faq on this, ought to
be. Regardless of what you fill the system with, all leaks need to be
sealed. This can be all new o-rings (anywhere there's a nonbrazed
connection) and the compressor shaft seal itself can dry out.
