the ABA shortblock is a "tall block" and is 16.5mm taller than the 9A.
The bore and the stroke are the same, but the connecting rod lengths and the piston heights are
different.

the 16v pistons are almost flat and have cutouts to clear the intake valves
I think the 8v pistons are dished. Putting the 16v head on the ABA will give you a very low compression
ratio.
