RE:dead battery?



Get a decent quality battery ( Interstate is my preference). Use a 
multimeter and check the resistance between the engine ground and the 
battery. It should be less than 4 Ohms. Check the resistance between the 
pos. of the alternator and the battery. It should be less than 4 Ohms as 
well. The charging voltage should be no less than 13 Volts.
  Brian, it could be the salty air; I haven't had a problem with my 
batteries to that extent. The longest I have had a battery last is 5 years!
