If you still have slop after replacing all of the bushings, I would look at
the selector rods, the ball at the bottom of the relay shaft, and the shift
lever bearing(inside the car, under shift boot). I replaced all of these
items, and had almost no slop in my shifter afterwards. If you've got alot
of slop, try to figure out which one of the above parts is the culprit, and
just replace it. This is pretty straightforward to troubleshoot. I think
all of these items are under $30 each.  Also, you might want to go with a
short shift kit, and a weighted shift rod to improve the feel of the
shifter. If you only do one, I'd go with the short shifter. Get the simple
one, like from Eurosport or Techtonics, instead of the expensive one from
Neuspeed. The short shift kits come with the bushings, at least the
Techtonics one did when I got it 5 or 6 years ago.
