Another 16V question

The 2.0 block I saw today.....and coincidentaly may buy tomorrow.....was
definetely a bubble block. The dude at the wrecker said it came out of a
Jetta but neither he nor I was sure it was a 16V. Now I know to look for
the 9A on the block above the #3 cylinder.

By process of elimination, this must be a 2.0 16V block. I also didn't
notice if it had the plug at the distibutor or a gaping hole.....shit.

It has a strange feature though.....There is a sensor with one blade
connector that points right at the crank just below where the distributor
(and a little toward the flywheel) would go if it was an 8V block. What
would this be???? Crank sensor? For what fuel/ignition system???

Thanks for all the input from the 16V masters.
