Re: Making short shifter



The solid metal shift rod that goes from the selector on the tranny to the 
lever on the firewall is the area that we are going to be working with. On 
the firewall end there is a connecting relay shaft; this shaft needs to be 
lengthened 2" (weld a piece of metal on it). The selector end needs to be 
staightened flat (perpendicular to the ground). Drill holes in both pieces 
of metal with respective distances from the original holes; add bushings and 
enjoy the wonderfulness of clinking through gears with ease.HTH
