Fw: Re: r134 conversion-success



My brother was discussing R134 with an A/C tech recently - he said the
big prob is that the oil used by Freon (R12?) will chemically react with
R134 - creating an acid that will eat away your seals. I am trying to
find a tech that will flush out the old oil for me on the side, and leave
the rest of the job to me . . .

My brother did this about a year ago to his Corrado.  It still blows
cold, but there is some sort of valve near the firewall that shows signs
of leaks. (has oily dust all around the joints)

But, at less than $30 to fill, who cares?
