[tech]Inline Coolant Heater Install

I was looking at installing an inline coolant heater. It puts out
1500W into the coolant, and pumps it through the engine. The only
problem is where to put it. I was thinking that I could splice it
into the hoses running to and from the heater core. They are small
enough to fit the y-adaptor that comes with the pump.

It has to be below the level that the coolant sits in the engine
block or the pump will run dry and self destruct. I figure that the
two hoses to the heater core sit below the level of the overflow
tank so it should be ok.

Has anyone else installed anything like this in their car? I just
like the thought of hot coolant flowing through the engine, and
instant heat in the morning instead of letting it run for 15
minutes.
