RE: Transmission leak question



there is a seal around the outside of the flange, too.  it's easy to
fix.  you get a kit with both seals (little cap you were talking about
and the outer seal.).  you'll need a tool to compress the flange so you
can remove the C-clip that holds it on.  i just made one with a bolt
that fit inside the flange and a heave piece of metal.  then just pull
out the old seal and press in the new.  you can do it with the tranny in
the car.  the only annoying part is putting that damn (new, come with
kit) C-clip back on.  you'll *need* a pair of C-clip pliers (the ones
that *open* when you squeeze them.)
