Well, today was the 4th day of rain, here in the Great Northern Half of
the Republic of California.

On the way home I was tooling along at about 45 mph on a road not quite
a freeway but is an expressway. The light ahead went green to yellow to
red and the car in front of me had stopped rather than enter the
intersection with a hint of yellow light.

'No problem' says I, but my car sensed this would be a perfect example
to teach me the finer principals of hydroplanation.

[Think I discovered a bubble in the line because I felt the brakes lock
up diagonally- one front and the opposite side rear.]

'Hmmm' says I, 'the car is about to go sideways'. Jimmeny Cricket on my
shoulder says "Well, let off the brake then dude..." 'But we'll hit that
car there, in front of us, Jimmeny', says I.

"No we won't, not if you ditch it in the right turn lane, see?" "Right
over there..." 'But that's the edge of the road, not a lane', say I.

"Just do it" says J-man, sportin' his new Nike Retirement-Jordans.

SCCHChchchchhhhhhh to a stop, just shy of the crosswalk.

Went and rented some anime to reflect on:

fate
mechanical refinement and maintenance
driving school
The practicality of a very light car & winter rain driving when your car
is shod with:

Wide - 205
Tall - 60 series
Mini - 13" tires

TBerk
Running on 2 Falkens & two WTFs that came with the car.
