re: rear discs

i was confused and never got a definitive answer when i did the rear disc
conversion on a car of mine.....but here is what i did pick up and notice
while goin through parts

i got a set of valves from a 16v scirocco...i put them in...

while looking around at cars in the junkyards, i found a couple later
model (85+ i think) and they had valves that looked exactly the same as
the 16 ones i picked up (and have on my 87 16v as well)...i compared them
and they look exactly the same as the 16v ones.....the master cylinder
was the same as the 16v's as well if i'm not mistaken....

so, what i've gathered from looking around and talking to other people is
that on most of the later cars you dont need to change the master cylinder
or proportioning valves...just bolt the rears up......

ymmv, just what i've seen

if anyone knows differently i'd love to find a definitive answer
