RE: 16V Alternator Bracket

<x-charset iso-8859-1>Yes, there is a non-ac alternator braket: VW part #027 260 885 P

This part fits with the smaller braket at the top just like the non-16v
cars.  It has a provision at the bottom for the power steering pump
support.....and uses an alternator with a different pulley.

Good luck finding one...they are big $$$ from the dealer.

Another route is to use the Alternator/A/C bracket from a 85-86 golf gti or
jetta and use the stock 16v alternator....it takes a different belt and you
also have to have the correct top braket but it works.
