<x-flowed>Yeah, that's a trick that works on all VWs.  Not sure about the newer ones 
though.  The way I learned it was that you had to have the heater fan turned 
all the way up, the lights on, and pull back on the brights.  Then the 
lights turn on, blower goes, and you can listen to the radio, and do other 
things like use your wipers.
