I dont know about the MK2 16v beating a GSR if thats what you are asking . 

I can say that my 16v MK1 has torn up a GSR with no problem . We were even 
from a standstill in 1st gear but when I finally got traction in second I 
left him for dead . When I was halfway through 3rd he was now at least 3 
carlenghts behind . 
Cant wait till I get some head work and cams ..hehe
