Re: Rear hatch with no wiper?

<x-charset iso-8859-1>Hello Stew,

yes, it's a sensor that is installed behind the rearview mirror
and it measures if there are any moving waterdrops on the windshield.

Then it activates automatically the wipers and controls their speed.
This works in the position of the control-stick where usually the
intervall is located. So you could still use the manual settings,
but it works really smooth so there is no need to switch to manual.

It works day and night and recognizes water & fluids on the screen.
So I finally have no screaming wipers anymore, and always the best possible
view when it's raining.
It's a good piece of VW-engineering...( but unfortunately not cheap )

most of the new VW's can be ordered with this gimmick.

Greetings
Dirk
