Re: Oil Temp again

For the record, my oil temp averages 85-90°C at about 60-70 mph, 95°C when stopped in traffic. Highest I've ever seen was 114°C, after about an hour at 85-100 mph, although the ignition timing was too far advanced at the time.

I've just had to retard the ignition so I can use unleaded - haven't noticed much difference in performance or mpg though.

my old 8v's oil temp used to run at 100c when moving decently on the highway, and about 115-120 sitting in bumper to bumper traffic. Now my 16v when moving stays about 80-90c on a very hot day when moving, and about 100 when not. any thoughts on this?

Maybe my high oil temps are b/c of a bad sender or gauge.  Question:  do I have a dual sender if I have an aftermarket gauge or what and where can I get a replacement?  TIA
