RE: Installing a cam



I'll second that...   ...I had an 84 GTI that I just slapped (being poor, 
young and foolish) a G-gind cam on...   ...I didn't check the valve 
clearance...   ...end result was a burned exhaust valve :~(

Yes, you should check the valve clearance and adjust as needed.
