Yes.  Having just done this on my convertible, I can speak to it. 
It's basically a giant, round pencil eraser with a bolt in the middle 
that you mount to a drill.

I used it to remove pinstriping and the glue left under the Karmann 
badges.  Worked quite well.  My neighbor got it at an auto paint shop.
