If that was me, I'd read the riot act - nobody asked him to fix it and now
the car is an open invitation to be robbed. I'd be asking him to foot the
bill for the inconvenience and for being such a dumbass!

slow down man, door handles break really easy; don't harsh the dude that 
broke it; get a new one and be happy, they're only about ten bucks.HTH
