New to sciroccos

Hey guys. I just bought a 1984 scricco (mars red), with a smidge less than 
100K miles on it. I was wondering if therea re any pitfalls or thing I  
should check before I put the thing out on the road. I'm going to get the 
whole thing checked out by a mechanic, but I wondewred if there were any 
quirks I should be aware of. Any thoughts?
