  I went to Area 51 Friday, and took some pics of the sights. Some of you
may recognize some of the stuff from X-Files episodes, or other articles on
it. But here are some more pics, with a rocco in some of them(for the list
content).

This is a shot of the A'LE'INN. It is a restaurant in Rachel Nevada, 20
miles north of the dirt road leading to area 51. In case you can't read the
saucer sign, it says "SELF PARKING". Inside, they have loads of souvenir
stuff that you can get. I stopped here right after the Area 51 Research
Center. The Center is a shop with lots of info, maps, and souvenirs. They
had topographical maps showing points where there were hidden government
camera and surveillance equipment outside of base grounds, and lots of
other interesting things. On the way to the A'Le'Inn, I heard a succession
of what was similar to sonic booms, but they seemed to last pretty
long(maybe they were really close?). There were no aircraft in sight.

  This is the infamous black mailbox. It is now painted white, and has
loads of graffiti on it. There was a lock. Inside the mailbox was... ;)

  After about 12 miles of dirt roads, here is the point of no return. Going
past these signs gets you in BIG trouble. For those of you considering this
trip, I will have to say do NOT take the shortcut from the black mailbox.
The road was very bad. Combined with my H&R and Bilstein setup, I am
surprised I still have teeth left. The Groom Lake dirt road was reasonably
good, I would recommend going in and out down this road.

  On a hill overlooking the entrance is a white Jeep Cherokee. Do NOT mess
with these guys, they are the Area 51 security. They have powers of arrest,
and are well armed. They didn't do anything while we were taking pictures.
But I was told they are very quick to come down if you get any ideas of
even putting a foot past the signs.

  The signs on the left side of the road. On one of these signs, it says
"use of deadly force authorized". I believe it was at the bottom of the top
sign, in red letters.

  The signs on the right side of the road. Notice all the warnings about
photographs. I must have missed those... ;)

  The dirt road leading to Area 51. This is Groom Lake Road. This road is
much smoother than the shortcut from the black mailbox. I think its a good
13 miles or so long.
