sunroof crank hangs down

Hey,

The sunroof crank in my scirocco is flopped down and won't stay up in the
cut-out where its supposed to go. The sunroof still works, but the crank
is in the way. I found a small black spring with two hooks on the floor
under a seat and I was wondering if this was part of the mechanism used to
flip the crank up?
