My father used to have a 51 Studebaker with I think a 426 (?) Hemi. I remember it being purple and him giving me rides in the "Grape Ape". I was too young to get a good feel but I remember smiling...alot! He now has a 91 extended cab S10 that sits on a 93 Blazer chasis and let me tell you! That Vortec tuned for the Blazer in a light little truck screams! It breaks 'em loose in 2nd with a stock automatic. This is no lie...I smoked a VR6 Corrado in IL. once. I had him all the way to 75mph. The guy was asking
 for it though.....no VW disrepect intended.

Or a '74 Chevy Nova with a nitrous injected 355 and a Doug Nash 5-speed.  I
had a friend that had such a monster and it would do a mid 13 sec. 1/4 mi.
OFF the bottle.  Of course he had to almost stop completely just to go
around a mild corner.  And locked diffs don't make for real pleasant driving
on the street either.  Nor does 6mpg, on expensive race gas.
