compression:235. translation?

hey all, a buddy of mine found a 16V motor and says that the motor is
showing a compression reading of 235.  does this make sense?  if so,
what on earth does it mean?  apparently the motor had had some work done
to it before it found its way into the wrecking yard.  thanks
