AMT/ERTL Scirocco 1 Model - update 10/14/98

If you are serious about wanting one of these models, PLEASE write
directly to Ertl.

Although they may be impressed with my letter and the attached Emails, I
am sure it would be far more impressive if each of you wrote a letter.

Please don't make me into the "Lone ranger"!!!!!

My letter to Ertl is ready to go. I have attached 43 printouts of Emails
expressing interest in the model. 
I hope Ertl (particularly Mr. Walsh) is responsive to market demand.

Whatever response I get from Ertl, I'll pass along to the list.

Dear Mr. Walsh:

I am writing to ask you to consider a re-issue of the Volkswagen Scirocco
model car kit Kit # PK-4153 (previously made by AMT/Matchbox). I
understand that Ertl now owns the molds for these kits. 

The Volkswagen Scirocco has developed a loyal following throughout the
years. This sometimes fanatical devotion can be witnessed at VW
gatherings nationwide. One group of fanatical Scirocco lovers (the
internet Scirocco Mailing List) has put up an internet site devoted to
the VW Scirocco - WWW.SCIROCCO.ORG.

I have enclosed with this letter printouts of 43 Emails that I received
pledging at least one model purchase each.

If this model were made known in publications such as VW Power, European
Car, VW Trends, etc., I am sure that you could easily sell hundreds of
these kits quickly. The Scirocco list alone would probably account for
100 purchases in the first several months.

I look forward to purchasing several of the VW Scirocco kits myself!
