Volktoberfest in Morgantown

The weekend started out with rain, but Sunday was a really beautiful day.

There was over 160 show cars in Morgantown, and I'm pretty sure that watercooled
cars were in the majority. The judging went very well for once, which had
nothing to do with me as one of the judges. :-) Actually, rather then
participant judged (where I usually find that I get screwed) they did
something different. They made several teams from volunteers and we each
got a catagory to judge in either air or water cooled. Paint & body, interior,
undercarriage, engine & trunk. We judged every car in our catagory, it took
many hours, but it turned out fair I believe. I even took third place in
modified Scirocco/Corrado (no I didn't judge my own class). So, where was
everybody from the list? Anybody run in the autocross? It was fun in the sun,
and the last one of the year for me. The cruise and dinner the night before
was a pretty good time also. We even took some in car video of the cruise,
and a blast down (and back up) a winding mountain road. Looks pretty wicked,
and it'll be more fodder for the Scirocco mailing list video.

I won't be at many shows next year due to having another child, and leaving
the wife home with two little kids is not an option I can exorcise very often.
