I don't know how much you have left, but you can drive until the tip of the
gauge is at the second white boundary after the red section. Not a good idea
for your fuel pump (it might be that there is not enough gas flow to cool 
it properly) but in an emergency you know that you can still keep driving 
until that point --and probably 5-10 miles more, too, but I haven't 
pushed my luck that far.
