10 years ago, (the last time it got below freezing here in CA) I was
sorting out a radiator problem and was running water only. Three days of
no driving and temps in the twenties and you guessed it....froze colder
than a Canucks pecker.

I simply shoved it into the garage for half a day, then drove it around
slowly for a while and all the temps were fine, with no damage due to the
freeze. The radiator didn't even crack.

If your really worried about it, put a space heater close to the front of
the car in the garage and you'll be fine in a matter of hours.!!!

Well it snowed here yesterday-

This is spooky because it froze into the 20s last night ( N. Calif. ) and I
have been running straight water because of a leak in one of those small U
shaped hoses up near the head.

When I went out to start the car this morning the puddles in front of the
house were frozen over, but the rad was not. Started up ok but didn't want to
idle, ( timing all out of wack, Just got the call that ND has finished dailing
in the CO2 and reset my timing for me. )

Got the replacment hose last night, gonna switch to phosforus (sp) free
tonight!

Another idea to warming the block might be the use of one of those halogen
shop lights aimed at the oil pan. Caution should used of course as these
things are hot, hot, hot.
