1.8 16V cams, 2.0 liter upgrade

Hi,

I'm new on this list and would like a little advice, if I may. My 87 16V
recently lost compression on one cylinder (down to 60 psi!) so I set about
rebuilding it. I had expected a burned valve, and sure enough, the valve
and seat didn't look that good on number 2. What I didn't expect was badly
worn and pitted lobes on 4 of the 8 lobes on the intake cam. I think the
exhaust is OK, and am thinking I'll just buy a 250 degree Euro spec cam. I
think my other choice might be to replace them both and go with the Kent 258
degree setup. Anybody have any favorite cam setups for a more or less stock
16V? I already have a Techtonics exhaust, and will also buy their mixture
enrichment unit, or perhaps the AutoTech version.

And should grinding the stock exhaust valves be avoided?

I'm also thinking that since I've got the thing torn down and I'm about to
bore the block and buy new 1st oversize pistons, maybe I should go for the 2
liter upgrade. The $1500 price for the crank and pistons that I've seen is
a bit steep for my budget. Anybody got any better ideas on a way to get to
2 liters from here? Is there an inexpensive welded stroker available?
Thanks for the help...
