It should drop right in, no problem.  You should make sure that they 
are either both VDO or both MotoMeter guages. From what I understand, 
they need to be the same brand of guage, or else you might run into 
problems.  Haven't experienced it first hand, just heard about.  I 
put a VDO speedo in my MK1 and like it, except for the typical VDO 
odometer not working.
