I wouldn't worry too much, my car has lived it's whole life (it's an '87) in
the PA/NJ area and is showing absolutely no signs of rust anywhere, granted
I hand wash it almost every week and wax it about 4-6 times a year, and
usually go to one of those wash it yourself high pressure washer places
after the winter and thoroughly clean around the wheels and as much of the
underneath as I can reach (never touch the paint with that thing).
