If you REALLY want cold, try liquid nitrogen - sparingly - You can get it at
welding supply outfits in 5 liter containers. I got 5 liters locally for $15.

This stuff will make just about any organic matter brittle like glass. Wear
face and eye protection against splash and chips. Be careful to avoid frostbite!

A CO2 fire extinguisher might work almost as good, if you don't mind the
refill cost. In any case, work outside, and leave the dorrs and rear lid
open for ventilation.
