Well, most people probably don't know this, but the CIS-E is somewhat
chippable. You can send you brain to Superchips in CA and they do some
modifying to it and send it back. I believe that the CIS-E does have a
PROM but it is hard soldered onto the board and they won't sell you just
the chip but they will do the labor for you.  If I remember correctly
this mod was about $250, but it probably does the same thing as the
Techtonics power module, which I have on it's way to my house now, and it
is a lot cheaper.
