About Your Seat

To fix the latch to open seat, you'll find it much easier if you remove the
seat from the car totally (a suprisingly painless and easy procedure)

I can't say for all seats, but for mine at least (a set of leather Recaros)
You have to be careful when removing the seat cover.
If you look in the lower back end of the seat there should be a series of
hog clips which hold the mouth of the seat cover together. Once these are
removed
you can begin to slide the seat cover up, you can try to look in there and
fix the problem with the cover still on, but that may prove to be difficult.
If you want to remove the cover the entire way you have to be careful
because there are some metal strips which hold the seat cover snug against
the seat (in the front) that need to be unclipped, which unfortunately is
not the easiest of
task. Another point to remember: When I removed mine the cloth holding
the metal strips to the seat cover had dry rotted and ripped, leading to a
series of unwanted repairs to the seats to get them back on properly.

I know this sounds like a garbled mess but if any of this totally doesn't
make
any sense, just let me know and I'll try to be a little more clear about it.
