I have a Mk1 Scirocco, scale model. It's about 1 3/4"(45mm) long, 3/4"(19mm)
wide and stands 5/8"(16mm) high. It's molded in a dark blue plastic, has
only a driver side outside mirror, wrap around front turn signals('78-'81),
"glass" all around, tan interior, high back(one piece back) front seats, rear
wiper, a european style front license plate, "steel" wheels(tire/wheels
turn), euro bumpers, and on the underside, a long euro twin downpipe w/o a
cat. The maker is Herpa. West Germany. The model, as molded into the
bottom, is "VW SCIROCCO GTI". I found this many years ago in Monterey, CA.
It was in one of those toy stores along the waterfront area. They had many
different kind of cars, but this was the only one I was interested in. I
think it cost about $3, no box. Haven't been back there for a while so I
don't know if the stor is still there.

Your right that there are not many scale models of the Scirocco out there.
They will be hard to find. I always have my eyes open for models or kits of
our car. I think there was a scale model kit for the Mk1 back in the late
70's but haven't seen it. Definitely collectables for "nuts" like us.

Happy roccing.
