 Having done this swap in a Scirocco Mk I, I can say that the linkage is no
 different between a car equipped with the 5 speed tranny, or a 4 speed
tranny.

I know for a fact that the relay levers and linkage rods are differant. Why?
Because the part numbers are differant and I work on them all day long. I
could even give you the numbers, and they even look differant. Yes It will
work but not at its best potental.
