Mine work fine! Both sides! (although I have replaced the driver side 
regulator once.)

Well, like anything, given time and lots of use, they're bound to wear out 
like anything else.

its been my experience that 2 things break. One, the motor simply burns out. 
Easy enough, 2 screws and you slap in a replacement from the junkyard. 
The other is the mechanical part that connects to motor to the crank 
mechanism. Its got 3 plactic prongs that engages the motor to the regulator 
thingie and, well, they break. 
(come on, its made out of freakin' plastic for crying out loud. What were 
theythinking when they designed that thing... I know, they were laughing! 
Thats what they were doing.)
Thats about it. Pretty simple, right?
