My 80 fits a full size spare in the well.  As far as the mk2 scirocco 
a donut is all that is accomadated for.  BUT what I have seen people 
do is cut a section of the speaker rack, right behind the rear seat 
and strap a full size tire standing up against the seat back.  I 
would never do it but its an idea.
