Nope, active are the ones you buckle yourself (lap belt and shoulder
harness together).  My 92 GTI and the 91 Jetta and oh yeah my 94 Golf
III POS that I had all have passive belts...the annoying ones that are
attached to the door that do nothing but get in the way.
