new h20 mag??

Hey volks! Here's a little something that I picked up while perusing
the Watercooled newsgroup (which, may I say, I am not all that impressed
with...). It seems like a pretty cool mag/journal/whatever, and it
doesn't seem spammy, so I think that I may subscribe to it. Anyways,
here it is...

To All Serious H20 VW Enthusiasts:

The inaugural issue of The Wolfsburg Journal will be available in about
3
weeks, right after the new year. It is loaded with tech articles, news
features, tech tips, classifieds and high-end conversion columns that
are aimed
specifically at the major gearhead: those folks who are not satisfied
with
simply an exhaust, a p-chip, suspension and foglights, all of which
anyone else
with a Visa card could just go out and buy.

Tired of seeing and hearing about the same old stuff in every succeeding
issue
of the trade magazines? Some guy in Paduca, Illinois that has a 92 GTI
with a
Neuspeed this, an Autotech that, a Velocity Tuning this, an ABD that and
every
other little aftermarket goodie that anybody else could go out and buy
and
install. Not to say that these companies don't make some good products,
but
isn't it about time you heard about somebody doing something ORIGINAL
for a
change?

How about:

A guy who has an 88 Quantum Syncro wagon, who is dropping the standard
2.2L
5-cylinder out and installing the 2.3L 20-valve Turbo from a 91 Audi 200
Turbo
Quattro, with the full TAP kit, producing nearly 450hp?

A longtime tech and conversion artist who recently installed a G-60 into
the
back of an '87 Westfalia Vanagon Syncro?

A small H20 VW tuning shop that has engineered a Paxton-supercharged
2.1L 16V
G-60 that develops nearly 375hp in a 77 Golf Mk1?

An air and watercooled shop owner who recently installed a 1.8L 16V into
the
BACK of a 79 Scirocco, and is now kicking major butt in the local
roundyround
circuit with it?

All of this and more are the kinds of things you will see and hear about
on the
pages of The Wolfsburg Journal. Responsible journalism, all with NO ADS
from
outside companies, no "attitude", no glaring writeups for one particular
product, part or service, no tech written from a standpoint that makes
them
sound as thougt they are the only authority on the subject, no "pretty
boy"
stuff, no T&A shots, no sexist language, mentality or overtures, none of
that.
Just serious info for SERIOUS enthusiasts, who are SERIOUS about wanting
to
hear what others have accomplished, and want to boot up their brain to
the tech
as much as possible.

There are plenty of casual enthusiasts and "daily drivers" out
there---and
nobody's knocking them! It is simply that there are others, however, who
are
constantly driving for something more--who can't get enough of new ideas
on how
to make BIG power, learn how to work on their cars, service and maintain
them
themselves, and are fed up with all the "marketing scams disguised as
tech
articles" that we are barraged with daily in the national trade
magazines. The
Wolfsburg Journal is a publication for this group of folks.

If this sounds like you, we at the Wolfsburg Journal invite you to
e-mail us
either here at A1racing@AOL.com or preferably at our usual business
e-mail
address, which is robrarcg@juno.com, and find out more. For a mere 2
bucks plus
50 cents for postage, you can join in with the 100+ other gearheads
across the
country (and actually several are international) who want to get their
hands on
a copy. No, this newsletter is not "the last word in H20 VW performance"
or the
best thing since sliced bread. But is a heckuva good one, that is not
tempered
or biased by gratuities or gifts or money from ads from any advertisers.

As this newsletter is in hardcopy form, we will need a street mailing
address
or PO Box or whatever to send it to. This info will be kept in absolute
strictest confidence--it will go nowhere else. Period.

No splashy full-color photos, no shiny paper, no big-tuner ads: just
serious
tech for folks who are serious about H20 VW performance. Check it out!
