It's a JC whitney's site advertising 50watt backup bulbs. WHOA. Has anyone
tried these and had their rears melted? Someone here on this list does
deliveries and was asking about a way to brighten up the hindsight....

Got 'em. They work fine. Helps alot when you have tinted rear windows. Yes
they are 50 watts. They are halogens, like you find in those "euro"
desk/table lamps. They have been adapted with a standard automotive type base
which allows them to fit into a standard automotive socket. They run hot. I
would only use them for backups. Brake lights would be too hot because who
knows how long you may have to be stopped sometimes, i.e. lens meltdown. I
also bought them from JC Whitney, on sale, for $10 for 2 pairs(I think). A
yes vote from me.
