Well when I was using that setup it worked like this, I ran the breather
hose to the left of the car under the intake boot & used a 90 deg tube to
another hose & attached it to a plastic connection piece that VW uses for
a heater hose connection, drilled a hole the same size as the connection
in the brake fluid bottle cap & screwed the cap on. It did take care of
the oil all over my trans that was coming through the swiss cheese airbox.
Since then I used two of the inline containers from a 77 only & stuffed
them with Type 3 (Yeh Air cooled) oil breather screens. + ran a vacum line
from 1 of the containers to the throttle body to burn off any moisture
that had accumulated while sitting. Still no oil in the airbox after 6
months of autoxing throwing 7 grand rev's through the course. & the box is
even more ported ( thanks to shawn & his uncontroable dremmel ) than
before.
