I think "opening the doors" of the list would be a excellant idea.
I'm a Volkswagen die hard especially any thing from the begining of WATER
COOLED / FRONT WHEEL DRIVE VW badged generation 1973 Passat (Dasher in the
US 1974) a derivative of the the Audi 80 (Fox in the US) & K70 VW's 2nd
Front wheel drive / H20 car and close to the Audi 80 and Fox. This was also
the beginning tradition of naming cars after famous breezes
(Golf,Jetta,Passat,SCIROCCO,etc). After many years of trial with proto types
and model under taken over companies like Auto-Union (DKW, Wander,Horch
(AUDI)), Skoda, Seat (Karmann Coach) and NSU (the designers of the wankel
engine (rotory)). Of course none of this would have started if Hitler and
Porsche didn't get together. Everybody on the list sould get the Volkswagen
Chronicle (Publication International by Graham Robson)
Any way to get back on track......."open those doors" would be great
but A2 genration shouldn't be left out and I feel strongly about that because
they are VERY simular in there workings. Where the A3's (Golf
3,Corrado,Passat,Jetta 3 etc) are not as simular or as "user friendly" with
exception to the short block and trans, and most people are not so intencely
into them as the others because of cost and limitations.
My answer is absolutly YES, YES, and YES. However naming it the
A1 Volkswagen List isn't fair enough, again lets not forget the
Jetta and Golf owners. The A2 chasis was a great VW acomplishment in design
and durability!
How about the Volkswagen List 1992 and earlier or Volkswagen-L-92&E.
I really don't know but A1 seems to deferentiate alittle.
Then for a concern will we all (meaning list members) be flooded with
E-mail each day?

Just some of my deepest thoughts Kevin and fellow listers.
