suggestions

I stopped by the house of a neighbor today, because he had an old Scirocco in his
driveway. To make a long story short he said he was planning on giving it to Goodwill (or
someplace like that) he said to look it over and make him an offer for parts.

Well my newly purchased car is a '84 and this is a '78. The engine is in pieces (fuel
injection and other stuff in the trunk.)

1. The exhaust manifold and system looks like the one I need for my '84 the twin outlet
style. The engine is a 97 C.I. I think. Will this fit my 1.8 ltr? How bout the throttle body stuff?

2. This car is a piece of junk. The engine is trash, one of the front fenders is rusting away
(kinda wierd cause the rest of the car is not bad), and the interior is trash., doors and locks
aren't working well either. BUT being a lover of cars I can see this thing back on the road,
maybe as a Auto-X or something. sshh (don't tell the wife).

3. I can probably get this car for $20. But don't want to get stuck paying a tow truck to haul
it off later.

What do you guys (ya'll for all the Texans) think, should I?

A. Get the car and play with it.
B. Avoid this thing like the plague
C. Get it and strip off the parts for later use.
D. Just pick up the parts (assuming they will fit) and leave the rest.

All opinions are welcome. And oh ya anbody need anything off this year car. I can look at it
if anyone is looking for something. TIA
